The Rain Forest of Idaho
Idaho’s inland rain forest is a unique and remarkable ecosystem. Though not as wet as the Hoh Rain Forest in Washington, it receives ample rainfall, creating a lush, verdant landscape in a mountain valley near the Canadian border. Occasionally, rays of sunlight break through the foggy mist after the showers, illuminating the forest in a magical light.
This extraordinary region is one of the last places where true old-growth forests, including the majestic Western Red Cedars, still thrive. The hiking trails here are among my favorite in Idaho, offering a rare glimpse into this pristine and ancient woodland.
