Description
Idaho, central, Elk crossing the Selway River in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness, #dr68
The Selway Bitterroot Wilderness encompasses over thirteen thousand acres in central Idaho. Its one of the most remote places in the lower 48 states. The Selway River is one the last completely free flowing rivers, no dams block its way through these rugged mountains. Here an elk crosses the river under mist shrouded mountains creating a feel for the natural wildness in an image that actually exists in this protected wilderness area.

Leland, this truly captures the essence of this magnificent wilderness area. Excellent example of when the actual subject does not have to be "bulls eyed" front center to be effective. Makes me almost wish I still lived in Montana :)
