Oregon, south-east, Milky way, starlight, Venus and zodiacal light over the cracked surface of the Alvord Desert Playa. This was enough light to provide luminance on the cracked and textured surface of the Alvord Desert Playa under Steens Mountain in south-east Oregon. This particular section of the Playa is very hard and feels almost like concrete underfoot. The surface patina helps to reflect light with a glossy radiance.
