Description
Idaho, south-central, Textures and forms carved into basalt over a ten thousand year time span by the Big Wood River.
Over a period of about ten thousand years, the Big Wood River in central Idaho carved these sculpted forms in hard basalt. Although the dominant colors are black, gloss black and gray, light reflected off adjacent rock reveals different color hues ranging from light blue, to tan and sometimes varying shades of purple. Now called Black Magic Canyon, it feels like a gallery dedicated to shaping, form, and texture. Professional photography by Leland D Howard for wall art.
